Something new is coming and it is good to know why.
Eleven years ago we set out with Projektově on a mission to make projects in companies successful and tasks completed. We took inspiration from project management standards, which we still follow. Our goal is to translate project theory into practice through a simple design. That is how Projektově came to be, hand in hand with easy task management and project task mind maps.
In recent years we welcomed more demanding customers and wanted to accommodate them as much as possible. So we ventured into the depths of project management, expanded project templates, added custom fields to tasks and projects and improved time-tracking reports. We were not satisfied and kept improving everything in detail. For example, we linked planned project budgets with the estimated times of their tasks, displayed planned costs over time, and completely reworked the Gantt chart that has been with us from the start.
Projektově is, simply put, the Swiss army knife for project management today. Sometimes, however, even opening the proverbial knife became problematic, as you may have experienced yourself. That forced us to think about more fundamental questions than how to fine-tune an already advanced feature to perfection for just a handful of users.
Back to basics
The number of basic questions to support keeps piling up, the speed at which they arrive is growing, and on top of that many of them repeat. We have built a great "knife" that lets you manage anything you can imagine, but we forgot the friendliness and simplicity we started with. Many people struggle just to open the knife.
- When should I use a project, a sub-project and when a task?
- Where do I find the task report?
- How do I make sense of it and make sure my colleagues can make sense of it too?
We realize it is necessary to go back to basics and review them properly. We have polished features that often split further and quietly extend functionality in different corners of the app, which is a problem. By constantly improving individual features we have made the general behavior less clear.
We want to enable as broad a group of managers and business owners as possible to run projects well. It is time to stop polishing one or two features to perfection and focus on the overall user experience.
Smooth, fast and, I believe, also joyful movement between tasks and guidance towards completing them – that is the foundation of Projektově 2. All advanced features remain; we have now devoted attention to the whole and to performance – the performance of the people who use our app every day, and we are genuinely invested in them growing and improving every day.
That is why Projektově 2 stands on three pillars:
- Product (the application)
- Health (the course of projects)
- Refinement (improving and helping users, ensuring education and growth)
Product
With a growing number of customers, statistical data and interviews, we know where the biggest opportunities for improvement lie in the application. After a careful analysis including many interviews and feedback directly from you – the users – we have concluded that several areas need to be improved in fundamental ways.:

From Projektově to Projektově 2
Just analyzing, designing and testing the basic layout of the app, the project list, the task list and the task detail took hundreds of hours together with the designers. We took Projektově 2 from the ground up, which allowed us to elegantly solve not only user pain points but also technical ones. IT as a whole is evolving very quickly, and even though the application is decently coded, there are new approaches and technologies that, just by using them, bring for example even faster data loading and automatic updates. Not to mention the constant need to improve security.
Change hurts, but there is nothing to worry aboutWe are not changing the philosophy; we are removing unnecessary "rabbit holes" and adding features that make your day-to-day life in Projektově easier. The app is still built on projects and simple task management.
- We have reworked Projects and Tasks the most.
- The fewest changes happened in already polished pages, such as mind maps, Gantt charts, budgets or the popular My page.
We will explain everything in detail and, if you wish, you can order training where we will answer your individual questions and help with the transition. Believe me though, it will not be needed. We have truly taken care and we are preparing detailed articles for you in which we go through all the changes in depth.
How will the transition from Projektově to Projektově 2 work?
You already have a button in the app that takes you to your Projektově 2. The existing and new Projektově 2 will run in parallel, and since both apps share all data (projects, tasks, etc.), you will be able to switch between them smoothly.
During 2026 we will gradually guide you through the transition to Projektově 2. The planned date when Projektově 1 will be turned off in the cloud is 1 October 2026 – so you have plenty of time to get to know the new app calmly. To switch over, you only need to decide which app should appear after sign-in. The data (projects and tasks) stays the same regardless of which app you use.
I repeat – once you get a chance to try Projektově 2,
you will want to switch right away.

Just as in life you need to exercise regularly to feel good, in project management too there are activities that need attention and improvement. Projektově 2 will help you keep your projects in good shape.
Project management does not happen in a vacuum, nor only inside an app. With Projektově 2 we connect good project and task management practice directly with the application, so you see at a glance whether a project is fine or whether a possible issue is brewing, what kind and how to address it.
At the same time this is not a rating, which could easily go wrong, but tips and recommendations shown at the right time in the right place. Just as when you hire a personal trainer to get into good shape, Projektově 2 will help you with better projects.
That is why we want to support your movement not only inside our application, but also in your company, or for example on a bike after work.
